Formerly known as the TECO Streetcar Depot, the Armature Works structure played an important role in the city of Tampa as a repair and storage facility for the Tampa Electric Street and Railroad Company (formerly known as the Streetcar Barn) . The Barn was an integral part of Tampa’s development, connecting the surrounding neighborhoods. In 1946, the system was abandoned and a more modern means of transport was chosen – cars. Tampa Armature Works, a manufacturer of phosphate machinery, purchased the building from TECO in 1960. Today, Armature Works has been renovated and has become the heart of the Heights neighborhood as a mixed-use commercial building. If you are in need of a foundation repair, click here.
